This looks extremely promising and solves a tremendous number of business problems when it comes to creating online presentations and sharing them live. We developed our first flex application last year and I can see you have really tapped the value of the platform. We only scratched the surface.

I hope I find myself in the beta soon. If this is an effective application I can see it becoming central to our business and our client's business's. Congrats guys... I've excited for you and the clients that will be empowered beyond their existing walls.

Go collaboration and version control, go! Keep me on the short list to know when this is in testable shape. Greatly looking forward to that.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the questions.

1. It depends on what you mean by support UTF-8 characters. SlideRocket is written in Flex 3 so we inherit all the capabilities of Flex. If you're asking, will SlideRocket support multi-byte character sets the answer is ultimately yes.

2. Yes it will be possible to export presentations back to the desktop. We'll be using AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) to create a desktop editor / player so that you can work with your presentations when you're offline. We will additionally support PowerPoint export.

3. Sorry to hear you're having performance problems. Given we're still in private BETA we're still in the process of tuning and ramping so please bear with us. If you're willing to do some more testing for us please send us your email to support@sliderocket.com

Thanks for your interest and stay tuned.

Good luck with the change Nat! You bring a lot of experience to the SlideRocket team.

Two questions:

-- Does SlideRocket support UTF-8 characters?

-- Can I export completed presentations back to the desktop? The product tour is really slow in China and I won't be able to use the service until the lag is corrected.

thanks,
Steve
