It’s amazing to see how everyone has been using SlideRocket’s ability to easily combine media types and quickly publish and share them. He also demonstrated a cross-section of SlideRocket functionality including super-fast authoring, the SlideRocket plug-in architecture, bonding live data to your slides from external sources, slide library sharing and the piece de resistance, Salesforce.com integration.

We had a great time presenting at the Under The Radar conference in Mountainview yesterday. There was a comprehensive lineup of early stage companies with some fantastic new technologies being presented, in most cases by the founders. It was a fun forum to network with other startups and compare notes as well as meet with the press and potential investors. Kudos to Debbie Landa and the team at DealMaker Media for organizing another successful event.
SlideRocket took home THREE out of a possible four awards from the conference! The overall best in show award and both the judges and attendee awards in our category of Virtual Worker. We were extremely happy to get this kind of feedback. It means we’re on track and that other people share in the vision of an online, feature rich presentation system that provides for all your presentation needs in one place. Thanks to everyone who voted for us!
Seeing how people use SlideRocket is probably the best part of our job. One of our charter customers is The Weather Channel and they recently put SlideRocket through its paces at their annual sales meeting or “upfront”. You can read more about the event in this Advertising Age article.
The Weather Channel used SlideRocket to showcase their investment in high-definition (HD) video. SlideRocket natively supports Flash video / H.264 and The Weather Channel was able to seamlessly embed the HD content into their slides. SlideRocket gave them the ability to create slides with motion that could be easily edited up to the last minute, and they could see changes in real-time as their graphic designer worked on the slides from 1,000 miles away. They used SlideRocket transitions and builds–as well as some Adobe Flash effects–to create an impressive presentation even by our standards. Nice work The Weather Channel!
SlideRocket has great business value but we think the feature that sealed the deal was the ability to make slides with snow.
How will your business use SlideRocket to outshine the competition?
As we looked for investors it was important for us to find a team that understands SlideRocket’s value, shares our vision, and has the experience to help us get where we want to go. Hummer Winblad surpasses our expectations on all counts and we feel incredibly lucky to be part of their family.
We’re also happy to announce that Mitchell Kertzman will join the SlideRocket board. Mitchell brings a wealth of software and industry experience and we’re very pleased to have him on our team.
What does this mean? It doesn’t mean that everyone at SlideRocket gets a Herman Miller Aeron chair (except Mitch who brought his from home). We are going to expand development, broaden our sales and marketing operations, build out the SlideRocket Community, and finance some infrastructure improvements.
