SlideRocket Now Autosaves You From PowerPoint Boredom
SlideRocket realizes that dynamic presentation makers like you don’t want to have to think about saving your work. You want it to be saved automatically so you can focus on creating great presentations.
SlideRocket is pleased to announce that this desire is now a reality. SlideRocket features Autosave on all of our plans, enabling every SlideRocket user the ability to simply create without worry of losing their work.
How does SlideRocket accomplish this? We’re glad you asked! Our server is looking for changes to your presentation every 5 seconds while you edit. If it finds one, it records the change. It’s that simple. We even put a little text snippet in the upper right-hand corner of the Presentation Editor that lets you know when saving is taking place.
Yup, no more control/command+s around here. No more wondering, “Did I save?” And most importantly, no more worrying if that last change you made will still be there if you happen to lose your Internet connection unexpectedly or close your browser window.
Not enough? We didn’t think so either! Trial, Pro, and Enterprise users enjoy the benefit of SlideRocket’s enhanced Version History. Want to go back to the last change you made? Or 10 changes ago? No sweat! Just open up the History tab in the lower left of the Presentation Editor window, and you can change your current slide back to a previous version. To access your presentation Version History, go to File > Browse Presentation History. It’s nice to know someone’s looking out for you, right? With Autosave and Version History, SlideRocket has you covered.

I’ve been asking for autosave for ages. There’s a problem: I need a new filename. I’m updating versions of a marketing deck to send to different potential partners or sponsors. New information is added to the deck. I don’t want to just rewrite over an existing deck, and I want to know what was in the deck that I had previously sent. I’m confused about this. There’s no “SAVE AS”

HeathCliff,
You can change the name of a presentation from the dashboard for that presentation by double-clicking on the title, changing the name, and then clicking return/enter.
If you want multiple versions of the same deck, you can go to “All Presentations” and right-click on the presentation you want, and then “Duplicate”.
If you are duplicating in this way, you can also utilize Library Slides and Slide Groups in order to keep certain slides linked together from a “master” slide. That is, change something on one slide and the change reverberates across all versions.

I really want to try the upgrade, but although there is a free trial I can’t get anyone in at sliderocket to show me how to upgrade without paying the fee immediately. I want to test the analytics and collaboration but I already have four projects started. I don’t want to create a new account. I’ve been asking for weeks, multiple people on email and they keep sending partial non helpful answers. I will switch to Prezi if I don’t hear from them by tomorrow at 5pm.

Tonight, i worked on a sliderocket presentation for the first time. I spent an hour on it. It said it was saving. I logged out, and logged back in, only two find it only saved the first two of many slides. ugh. that’s one hour i won’t get back.

VJ,
Auto save is always active and is not something you can turn off. Why would you like the option to inactivate it? I would like to share your experience with our product team.
