Announcing a Fresh Timeline Template
This timeline template provides ten free layouts perfect for business, school, projects and reports. You will be able to create a beautiful timeline in just minutes. To get the template, signup for a free SlideRocket account and visit the Templates tab.
Event Timeline Template

This event timeline template shows the standard arrow timeline that is frequently used. But like so many of the layouts in this timeline template it delivers an interesting design twist. In this case it’s a background texture, while others provide an image or a solid color background.
Timeline Template With Circles

This timeline template blends a horizontal and vertical layout. By focusing on just three years, the audience is provided with both context (the past), the current situation and the plan (the future). You can provide as much detail as you wish on the lines that drop down from each year.
Picture Timeline Template

This timeline template keeps things interesting by including pictures in the layouts. Similar to a “regular” presentation, the inclusion of images increases the engagement of your audience. Pictures are great for showing how something has transformed over time in a way that words struggle to explain as quickly.
Seasonal Timeline

Who says your timelines need to be all business? We wanted to be sure we included some fun designs in this timeline template so we created one with a seasonal theme. We hope you like it!

This was certainly worth the click. Great work John, very creative! It’s refreshing to see how you’ve visually engaged the users – a key factor that many sometimes overlook in their presentations.

I would say “transition effects are a gift, not an obligation”! There are way too much of them.

Lazza,
Each slide is meant to be a standalone example of a timeline, which is why there are animations on each slide. Whichever one you choose will already have an example of how to animate it. You can keep the animations or delete them.
But I agree, use animations and transitions conservatively in a “normal” presentation that is telling a story.
