We couldn’t resist (Sorry Apple).

January 6, 2009 Mitch Grasso

At this morning’s MacWorld conference, Apple announced some pretty cool new transitions for Keynote, their presentation software. Credit where credit is due, they are pretty awesome and make simple animations a breeze to do.

However, we couldn’t just let a good idea just live on the Mac desktop so we whipped out our own versions of a couple of their new transitions this afternoon. Here’s a preview:

We’ll push these out to SlideRocket in a couple of weeks for everyone to use. Of course, this is one of the unsung advantages of web applications – we can iterate new versions easily and quickly. You probably won’t see a new version of Apple Keynote until 2010.

BTW, if you haven’t voted for us in the last 24 hours for the Crunchies, we’d love it if you could do it one more time. Thanks!

Mitch

Where’s my invite?

November 11, 2007 Mitch Grasso

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted so, since Mike’s on vacation, I thought I’d jump in with a quick post about invitation status.

First of all, thanks a ton to everyone whose been testing SlideRocket and sending us such great and positive feedback. If you haven’t received your invitation yet, we apologize. We’ve had almost 10,000 people sign up for the beta and, while we’ve sent out almost 1500 invitations, we realize that the majority of you are still waiting. We are planning to push out another big release fixing many of the outstanding issues within the next 2 weeks. After that, we hope to send out some big chunks of invites.

So if you are still waiting, thanks for your patience. We hope you think SlideRocket was worth the wait!

First 100 invites

September 10, 2007 Mitch Grasso

Well, I haven’t posted since the beginning of this blog but I can finally pop my head up for a moment. SlideRocket has finally reached the point where we are comfortable in letting people start playing with it so we sent out the first 100 invites to our private beta today! This is a huge milestone for us.

If we don’t crash and burn, we will send out a few hundred more soon. If you weren’t one of those early invitees, please be patient. We’ve received almost 3000 emails for the beta so it may take awhile to get everyone invited.

In the meantime, we put a new product tour up created completely within SlideRocket. It shows off some of our transitions, build animations, effects, and other cool stuff. Check it out!

Welcome to SlideRocket

April 13, 2007 Mitch Grasso

Well… here we go. The first post. This is where it starts. Zero-day. It’s all downhill (or uphill, i suppose, depending on your perspective) from here.

Although, of course that’s not entirely true. We’ve been working hard on SlideRocket for nearly a year now and we are getting really close to starting that ubiquitous private beta. We’ve done some demos for the guys over at Adobe and they seem to like what we’ve done with their tools. We’ve started talking to VCs. Things are gonna start moving quickly now…

So it seemed like as good time as any to start putting a public face on SlideRocket. Maybe we can build a little buzz, generate a little hype, get some of you signed up for the beta, and get the rest of you excited enough to wait for our public release. I guarantee it will be worth the wait – SlideRocket will blow away your expectations of what can be done with web applications (something we’ll talk more about soon)!

As usual, we’re gonna use this blog to keep you posted on all aspects of SlideRocket, maybe some thoughts and comments on this whole Office 2.0 space, some ideas on making good presentations, and whatever else we feel like. Please check back often or RSS-up. And if you haven’t already signed up for our beta, here’s the link.

Of course, since this is the first post, it’s unlikely that anyone is actually reading this unless you somehow stumbled upon us somehow unexpectedly. But, hey, maybe you were reading the 2nd or 3rd or 4th (or hopefully 100th) post and wanted to see how it started. This was it.

This is SlideRocket Mission Control. We’re counting down to launch…
