Community Sourcing a Presentation

It's January 2009 and it's time for a fresh start. Perhaps a few resolutions, maybe you're inspired to try some new things this year. Well we're inspired to try something new and we'd like your help.

We're community sourcing a presentation about "Presentation Horror Stories" and we'd like to hear yours. Maybe you forgot to turn your embarrassing screen saver off during a big presentation, maybe your IM started popping up inappropriate messages from your significant other during the staff meeting. Whatever your story we'd like you to create a slide to add to a deck of horror stories. Think of it as a digital patchwork quilt, everyone adds their piece and contributes to the whole. Here's how it works:

  • Create your slide using SlideRocket (you can sign-up here for a 30-Day Trial account)
  • Using SlideRocket's collaboration features share your slide with community@sliderocket.com
  • We add your slide to the deck where everyone can see your presentation horror story and empathize as they share their own story
  • The deck grows as more people contribute until we have a complete collection of stories that we can all learn from. More importantly we'll show how a community can collaborate to build a presentation.

Let's get this presentation started! You can watch the beginning of Presentation Horror Stories today, where it ends, is up to you.

Send questions and comments to community@sliderocket.com.

SlideRocket Showcase - Macworld 2009 Booth Displays

This month we had the pleasure of working with the Macworld Sales team to help them create their booth display for the corporate booth at Macworld 2009. The team wanted to use their plasma screens in portrait mode so they used the SlideRocket 9:16 format for their presentations which made designing their slides a snap. Check out the Macworld booth presentation in the SlideRocket gallery and see photos of the Macworld booth on our Flickr site.
