Builds and Animations
Builds animate elements onto and off of a slide. They can animate together or individually, animate automatically or when clicked on and be set to audio.
Builds
There are two types of Builds. Build In animates elements onto the slide. Build Out animates the element off of the slide. Build In and Build Out can be mixed to have an element appear, disappear and then a new element appear in its place.

Adding a Build
- Select an element on the slide
- Click on the Builds tab
- Click on the Add Build button

- By default, the Fly In build is selected
ADVANCED NOTE: Multiple builds can be added to the same element.
Customizing Builds
Once a build is added to an element it can be customized. All builds are listed under the Builds tab and the selected element’s build is highlighted in green. The ability to customize is dependent on the type of element selected.
- Build: Using the pull-down menu, select the animation from the following options:
- Appear
- Fade
- Wipe
- Fly
- Glow
- Sparkle
- Scale
- Blur
- Materialize
- Typewriter
- FlyZoomSpin
- Direction: Use the pull-down menu to set how the animation occurs
- In: animates onto the slide canvas
- Out: Animates off of the slide canvas
- Timing:
- Start: Sets how to start the build
- Delivery: Whether to build the selected element all at once or in parts
- Allow separate timings: Allows the parts to build in on independent timing
- Speed: Sets how long it takes to complete the build
- Delay: Sets the number of seconds to wait before starting a build
- Options: Vary by build and element selected
- Directions Sets the direction the element enters or leaves the slide
- Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade of the build
- Animate: Sets whether to animate the element as a whole or by individual components
- Spread: Sets the delay between items when animating by character, word, or table component
- Easing: Sets how a build animates to or from its position
- Sound
- Asset: Click the Add Audio Associated with the Build button

- Play at: Sets when to start the sound effect
- Volume: Sets how loud or soft the sound effect plays

- Asset: Click the Add Audio Associated with the Build button
ADVANCED NOTE: If an element is rotated, it will fly in from the direction of the rotation.
Also, effects do not require the build before they are applied. If an element has the Sonar Effect, the rings will appear before the build animates onto the slide.
Bullets and Builds
Bullets provide an additional set of options for animating text. The rules below apply to a text box with bullets or paragraphs, shapes with text and placeholders.
- Bullets and paragraphs can have individual builds unique to each section. Change the Delivery to By Bullet and check the box for Allow separate timings to add the bullets or paragraphs to the build list. To mix the text builds with other builds, refer to the Organizing Multiple Builds section below

- It is important to note that if the build is set to By Bullet, the next build number will be increased by how many bullets are showing. For example, if there is a text box with four bullets set to build in By Bullet, the next build will show as number 5 even though it is in the second spot

- Whenever there is a fill on a textbox, the fill will animate in first, followed immediately by the first bullet
Organizing Multiple Builds
To adjust the order builds animate, drag and drop the build into the desired order.

- Select an element on the slide
- Click on the Builds tab
- Click on the highlighted green build
- Hold the mouse down to drag the build
- Release the mouse to drop the build
ADVANCED NOTE: Other builds can be reordered here as well and do not require steps 1 through 3.
Preview Builds
The Preview button
displays how the builds will animate when the presentation is played.
- Select an element on the slide
- Click on the Builds tab
- Click on Preview
- If the builds are set to animate automatically then they will start playing. Builds set to Wait for Click will require the user to click the mouse or press the Enter key
Play Builds
To see how builds will animate in the context of a presentation, the presentation will need to be played. There are two types of players in SlideRocket. The first is the Preview Player. This is the player that is accessed after logging into SlideRocket. It gives a sample of how the presentation will animate. To play from the preview player, there are the following options:
- From the Presentations tab, click on the presentation once, then click Play
- Open the presentation in the editor and click Play
- Open the presentation in the editor, click on Builds and click Preview
The second is the Full Player. This is the version that plays from the published link, invitation or remote meeting.
ADVANCED NOTE: If there is a large audio file with the build there may be a slight delay because of the time required for the file to load.
Delete Builds
Builds are easy to remove.
- Select an element on the slide
- Click on the Builds tab
- Click on the Delete button
