Special Effects
SlideRocket users can add special Effects to enhance an element on a slide; Give a flat image the ability to pop, text the ability to glow or produce several other customizable effects.
Effects

Adding an Effect
- Click on an element on the slide canvas
- Click on the Effects tab in the Element Panel
- Click on Add Effect...
- Select the effect
ADVANCED NOTE: Multiple effects can be added to the same element. It is recommended to not add more than two effects or it will severely impact performance. Not all effects can be used on all element types.
Removing an Effect
- Click on an element on the slide canvas
- Click on the Effects tab in the Element Panel
- Click on the Delete button


Customizing an Effect
Most Effects have specific options to customize appearance.
DropShadow

- Distance: The offset distance for the shadow in pixels
- Angle: The direction from the element the effect appears
- Blur: The quality of the effect
- Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade the effect appears
- Opacity: Sets how transparent the effect appears
- Inner shadow: Check box turns on effect inside of the element
- Knockout: Check box makes the object's fill transparent and reveals the background color, leaving the outline for the effect
- Quality: Sets the amount of the effect by three setting options
Glow

- Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade the effect appears
- Opacity: Sets how transparent the effect appears
- Blur: The quality of the effect
- Strength: Sets how much of the effect appears
- Inner filter: Check box turns on effect inside of the element
- Knockout: Check box makes the object's fill transparent and reveals the background color, leaving the outline for the effect
- Quality: Sets the amount of the effect by three setting options
- Low
- Medium
- High
Bevel

- Distance: The offset distance for the shadow in pixels

- Blur: The quality of the effect

- Highlight Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade the highlight appears
- Shadow Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade the shadow appears
- Opacity: Sets how transparent the effect appears
- Knockout: Check box makes the object's fill transparent and reveals the background color, leaving the outline for the effect
- Quality: Sets the amount of the effect by three setting options
- Low

Blur

- BlurX: The amount of horizontal blur
- BlurY: The amount of vertical blur
- Quality: Sets the amount of the effect by three setting options
- Low
- Medium

Reflection

- Amount: How strong the effect appears
- Distance: How far the effect is displayed
- Offset: How close the effect is to the element
AdjustColor

- Brightness: Lightens the element
- Contrast: Increases the sharpness of the image
- Hue: Sets the color tones
- Saturation: Sets how much color is applied
ADVANED NOTE: Setting the Saturation to 0 changes images to black and white.
Borders

- Preset Styles:
- Matte Frame: Creates a traditional style frame around element
- Taped: Adds a mat behind the element and four pieces of tape in the corner
- Polaroid: Adds a Polaroid-style frame
- Torn Edges: Adds ripped edges
- Custom: Allows the mix of the above effects to create a unique border
- Show Frame: Check box turns on frame outside of effect
- Frame Color: Opens color picker to select the shade of the frame
- Thickness: Determines how thick the frame is displayed
- Bevel Frame: Check box adds bevel effect to frame
- Show Backing: Check box displays a mat behind the element that is slightly larger than the element
- Border Size: Opens color picker to select the size of the mat’s border
- Backing Color: Opens color picker to select the shade of the mat
- Show Shadow: Check box displays a shadow under the frame
- Height: Sets how far the shadow appears under the frame
- Corner Style: Sets if there are Tape, Frame or Pin effects in the corners of the frame
- Offset: How close to the center the Corner Styles appear
- Scale: How large the Corner Styles appear
- Border Style: Sets a border around the image in either Torn, Distress, Polaroid or Ektachrome
- Scaling: How large and to the center the Border Style appears
Aqua

There are no customizations for the Aqua effect
ADVANCED NOTE: The Aqua feature cannot be used with charts.
Flag

- Direction: Sets the direction the wind blows the flag
- Center
- Right
- Left
- Up
- Down
- Wind 1: Sets the speed of the first wind
- Wind 2: Sets the speed of the second wind
ADVANCED NOTE: The Flag feature cannot be used with charts.
Sonar

- Color: Opens the color picker to select the shade the effect appears
- Interval: How close or far the rings appear to each other
- Life: How far the rings appear on the slide
- Thickness: Determines how thick the ring is displayed
- Horizontal Position: Moves Sonar center side-to-side
- Vertical Position: Moves Sonar center up and down
ADVANCED NOTE: Effects do not wait for builds before they start playing. If the Sonar Effect is added to an element, the rings will appear before the element animates onto the slide.
